Located just 30 meters from the shores of Sydney Harbour, in the expansive grounds of Robertson Park, Watsons Bay, Dunbar House is a truly spectacular setting for a wedding.
Opened in February 2011, a multi-million dollar refurbishment of Dunbar House has seen this significant heritage building revitalised both inside and out. With the utmost attention to detail, the renovation pays homage to the 1830s while injecting an air of modern sophistication.
Interiors consist of an elegant colour palette of greys and silvers, beautiful lower wood panelling on the walls, William Morris wallpaper, Catherine Martin carpets and hand crafted crystal lighting. Meanwhile, the exterior of the building has been restored to its former glory with an elegant sandstone colour palette.
Civil ceremonies can be held on site on the Lower Lawn in Robertson Park under the grand fig tree with the magnificent backdrop of Sydney Harbour, (or in the indoor ceremony room which overlooks the harbour in the case of wet weather). Following the ceremony, guests can enjoy pre-reception drinks and canapés on the stunning outdoor Harbour Terrace overlooking the view, while the bridal party escapes to the bridal suite for a quick refreshment and touch-up, before making a grand entrance in the main dining room.
Offering world-class dining and unparalleled service, a team of dedicated event staff works closely with each client to ensure that every detail of every wedding is meticulously planned. Packages can be tailored to suit individual requirements and budgets, with the Head Chef and Sommelier available to customise food and wine selections.
Breakfast, lunch and evening weddings for 110 seated and 150 standing are available at Dunbar House, Monday to Sunday. Ample street parking is available within a short walking distance of the venue, and with Watson’s Bay Wharf just a stone’s throw from the venue, guests can also arrive and depart in style via charter vessel or ferry.
