Some couples say that choosing the engagement ring together was one of their favourite memories, others wanted to be surprised and some left not-so-subtle hints!

I have magpie syndrome and am drawn towards sparkly things (eg jewelry store windows). I kept looking at this one ring and finally he surprised me by telling me to try it on. It ended up looking strange on me – very big and bulky and sticky outy. Then my ring appeared in the window. Again he told me to try it on. A few months later – ta daaa! I think it would have been safe to leave him to his own devices though, he always pointed out ones I liked too.

We went shopping together and ended up agreeing on three different styles, I left the final decision up to him, but when he proposed three months later he had picked the one that I had been secretly going back to look at and coveting, wishing and hoping he would pick! I was so surprised that he proposed so soon because we had been planning on lay-bying the ring over 6-12 months!
Exactly one year later I completely surprised him by ‘proposing’ back with a custom made interlocking engagement/wedding band(s)!
It was amazing to turn it back on him and make him feel the surprise and delight that he had made me feel when proposing!

My fiance chose my ring and when he proposed it was a massive suprise! I hadn’t shown him any pictures of rings that i liked or looked at any in shop windows. He did an amazing job and i love my ring! It’s not what i probably would have picked but it’s absolutely gorgeous and now i can’t even imagine having another ring.
