Knotties Tell All: Veil or No Veil?

“No, I have a child… The jig is up!” − Claire

“It hasn’t lost resonance with me. I will wear it to symbolise exactly what it traditionally means!” – Shaelah

“I do not think that by living with your partner or even having children does not make you pure. I think purity comes out in who you are and how you act as a person. A good person living in sin is more pure in my eyes than a bad person not living in sin…I am wearing a veil, even though we already live together. I think it is more about revealing a bride to her husband than a symbol of that type of purity!” − Mel

“I will definitely be wearing it! I have dreamed of it from a little girl, and I loved the part in the movie, Father of The Bride where he lifted her veil and kissed her cheek. I truly believe in what it represents, and I can’t wait!” − Stephanie

“No. I hate wearing things on my head and also the back of my dress (and front) is amazingly detailed so don’t want it covered up.” – Megan

“I wore one, but not over my face,” − Olivia

“No, I like the look but I have four kids so the meaning is a bit lost with me! Plus it didn’t suit me.” − Eleanor

“I won’t be wearing a traditional veil as I’ve got a child (not my fiance’s) and we’ve been living together for more than two years. I’m going with a bird cage instead to complete the bridal ‘look’” − Aliesha

“Yes, because I’m a pure angel ♥” − Antonia

“Well, I think I’m still pure even after living with my fiancé for years and two kids later. Haha. I’m not sure yet. I’ll probably still wear one as it’s very common these days and normal to get married after living together and having kids. My heart is still pure in every way.” − Cindi

“I’m still undecided. Thinking I might just go with a tiara or something instead,” – Bianca

“I’m indecisive. My dressmaker sent me a beautiful one with my dress as a present but I don’t know yet if I will. I was quite content with just my head piece. I think I’ll check with what my ministers would prefer so I’m not being disrespectful. But then I do want it to go with my dress…” − Marley

“Bird cage veil for me as I have a detailed dress and I feel a normal veil will be too much, plus they’re just so ‘not me’ and I’m getting married by the beach so it’ll be windy and I don’t want it in my face!” − Sophie

“I’m wearing my mother’s veil which is 3-tier and hand-beaded. It’s my something old and feels special to wear something my mother wore on her wedding day. I tried on a veil with my dress and it just finished off the whole look.” − Christina

“I will be wearing one to complete the look. I love veils and think they are the final finishing touch, otherwise I feel like a girl in a pretty dress instead of a blushing bride. But each to their own.” − Rebecca

“No veil for me, it is somewhat outdated.” − Diana

“I am wearing one, just medium length, and at the back so not over my face. I don’t think veils are outdated at all. I think it makes me look more like a bride and completes the look too. Plus I don’t think it ‘hides’ my dress at all, which is gorgeous…If anything makes it look better.”− Emma

“I will be wearing one even though we have lived together for eight years and have two children together. I have always dreamt of walking down the aisle and having my dad lift my veil and give me to my fiancé. Also, the veil I will wear is my something borrowed from my best friend and matron of honor.” − Patricia

“It’s still quite traditional and I think veils are gorgeous and you don’t have to wear them over your face and you can get beautiful veils these days and in all different designs, you can even get them with your monogram embroidered on them! It’s really personal choice… Either way, Modern Bride or Traditional Bride – It’s still a day to be treasured with or without a veil! ♥” − Lombari & Co
