From my research for our wedding roses, asiatic lilies, orchids are the most popular choices for winter. However depending on your taste, theme and vision of your flowers these are some other options daisies, tulips, magnolia, poinsettias, amaryllis and freesia.
Our wedding is on the 12 June 2010 I have chosen a combination of Roses, Tulips & orchids in burgundy and rust colours.
Hope this helps!!

Hi Phoebecatherine. I am also planning a Winter Wedding and just recently spoke to a florist about what flowers we can get. Tulips and roses are fantanstic but nowadays you can get almost every kind as they are grown in hot houses all year round. Fresh is best because they will look stunning and wont wilt because its not hot enough.
Hope this helps.

Hello Phoebe
Suitable seasonal flowers for a formal winter wedding apart from roses are white oriental lilies, tulips ( which are abundant in winter – the parrot varieties are particularly beautiful). White phalaenopsis orchids are also stunning and are available all year round – They are imported from Thailand, but are expensive. Oncidium and cymbidium orchids can also be used to make beautiful formal displays _ Oncidium orchids are imported from Singapore – Cymbidiums are grown locally.
Cheers
Jill
