Where to go after the wedding…

We’re getting married in October, 2010, and our honeymoon will be in the Greek Islands. However: We’re waiting until the following April/May to go to the islands (for the weather). We want to find a place closer to home (Queensland) that we can escape to for about a week straight after the wedding. I found great little private beach huts on Mission Beach, but we’re afraid of the stingers around this time. Also thought maybe New Caledonia, but neither of us have been and don’t know much about it.
Any ideas or suggestions?
