Just wondering what your music choices are!

We’re  not having an aisle as such, so instead a friend is going to play Book of Love (peter gabriel version) on his accoustic guitar while we sign the register.  Ususally I’m not the mushy type, but this song was used in the last episode of Scrubs and my partner and I are both huge fans and cried like little babies when we watched it

I’d like to premise the next sentence by stating that i am an offbeat bride…by no means traditional ….. our wedding dance song is actually a snoop dog rap song being covered by ben folds (the title of which is definitely not appropriate for this forum).  If you don’t know the lyrics you would think it was a lilting love song, so we’ve had the music altered so that the lyrics are really soft.  it’s our own private little joke to have guests dancing to lovely music when all the while the lyrics that they can’t hear are pretty explicit

I havent chosen mine just yet, but im leaning towards Mark Knopflers ‘Love Idea’ or ‘Bellas lullaby’ from Twilight.

I am thinking of walking down the aisle to Kissing You – Romeo & Juliet. I have found a Harpist who can play it (instrumental of course). Still not decided on a First Dance yet.

I haven’t decided on a first dance song yet, there are still a few being thrown around and this is my fiancess job . I am walking down the aisle to Somewhere over the Rainbow which my sister-in-law to be will sing, as the Wizard of Oz is my fave movie of all time. We are going to cut the cake to Queen’s You’re my Best Friend.

we’re getting married in a beautiful little chapel with great acoustics so we’re just going to have a selection of piano based songs while everyone is gathering and sitting down. I’m thinking as i walk down the aisle it may be to Pink’s “Glitter in the Air”. As for first dance i’d love Elvis’ “Can’t help falling in love”.. but not too sure how the other half feels about that!

I have gone through a few ideas for ceremony processionals, the first one being “Stolen” by Dashboard Confessional (a little different, laceyj might remember the song from the Scrubs episode where Elliot gets engaged!).

Then i moved on to a song from Love Actually, either ‘Portugese Love Theme’ or ‘Prime Minister’s Love Theme’, both composed by Craig Armstrong.

At this stage however, it looks like it’s going to be the first couple of sections of ‘Erin Shore’ by The Corrs. This was the 2nd CD i ever owned as a child and i listened to it over and over, plus the music has a really nice build up with almost perfect timing.

My sister in law walked down the aisle to a version of ‘Heaven’ (Bryan Adams original), which was sung by Tina Cousins.

You should try searching for music by The String Quartet, which do ‘tributes’ to heaps of bands.

As for first dance, if i get my way it’ll be “feeling good” from Michael Buble, but i’m willing to compromise and have ‘how sweet it is’ (also Buble) if the fiance prefers.

While the groom is waiting at the top of the isle just before we arrive History in the making will play by Dauris Rucker. 

I will be walking down the ideal to Bless this Broken Road by Rascal Flats.

Recessional will be Ronan keatings I promise you.

Father & Daughter Dance I Loved her first – Heartland

There is a bit of a country feel to our songs as we both love them and we are getting married a  little homestead with a bush setting. 

my partner and i decided that he was to pick our first dance song and it was to be a surprise to me and i am to pick the isle song and its a surprise to him.

i am having when love takes over by kelly rowland sang acoustically by a male. its going to sound fantastic.

I’m still yet to go firm on my song choices but at the moment they are:

Aisle – Love Your Way by Powderfinger or Falling For You by Eskimo Joe

First dance – Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron & Wine (I was going to go Super Massive by Muse but I can’t dance very well so that is a little fast – but I will be playing that straight after our initial song)

It’s so hard to decide. Music is so important to me that I want to pick one that suits us perfectly.
