Hi,

I just need some other opinions on this, my Finace and I found this beautiful winery in the Hunter Valley.

We made the tentative booking a fortnight ago, and its been a week since she said she had the contract in her hands and to send off us. And we have yet to receive anything still.

We’ve previously already spoken to the manager about her poor corresponce and she has improved on that since.

I’m just wondering is this relatively normal or is it poor on the coorindators behalf?

Has anyone else had any issues? Or should i just forget the venue cos it could be wrose once they actually have the deposit down?!

Thanks

It could be because she is really busy, as there are lots of weddings this time of year. Is she able to email the contract, as mine was emailed to me. I understand your concern as my original wedding coordinator has left as has her apprentice, and now I have a new wedding coordinator who seems to be rather slow at responding to my emails, where as the others would respond within 24 hours. I hate feeling like I’m being ignored, but I’m just putting it down to the fact that she is really busy because she has just taken over from the previous coordinator. If you really love the venue stick with it, as I’m sure she will improve heaps when it gets a bit closer to your wedding.

Good luck

This would freak me out a bit as I would be worried that she’s not going to be on it 100% on the day. I’m a control freak and so love everything to be spot on. I would look at making an appointment with the coordinator and manager just to run through the wedding points again and maybe ask a questions like “what sort of time frame do you usually have for sending things off/replying to emails, just so I dont get worried when things dont come through” or something along those lines, just to make everyone aware and on the same page.

If it were me, I’d run a mile!  It’s normal for them to take a little bit longer to get back to you if you’ve already booked and the wedding isn’t quite soon, but if they’re not super-keen to lock in your event, then  it’s not important enough to them.  Regardless of how busy they are, they should still treat you like you’re the only wedding they have to worry about.  If they’re acting this way now, they’re not likely to treat you very well closer to the day.

My now husband and I were booked somewhere that took weeks to get back to us on any questions, so we cancelled and went elsewhere.  The week before my wedding (which was a destination wedding), the coordinator at the resort made me feel like her only priority, yet it turns out there was three other weddings in the days before ours!  It’s my opinion that every bride should feel like their wedding is that important.

That being said, if you have your heart set on that place, maybe call and tell them how you feel before looking elsewhere.  Good luck!
