Theme for Church Wedding to Beach side Reception

So…. Im totally confused to where to start with my wedding.
We are getting married in a church so I would like our theme to be elegant and romantic with floor length dresses but at the same time the reception is at a function centre by the beach in Wollongong in November. So I’m not sure whether the ideas would clash?
Also what would the dress code be for the venues and what are colours you would recomend . Any unique ideas would be welcomed to!
I need to start planning but without a theme or colours I dont know where to start.

wow! so many options!
what time of year are you getting married? summer or winter? this can affect your colours and dress choices.
THere are heaps of nice chocolate and teal combos out at the moment. yellow looks nice in summer down by the water. Purple, Red, Greens… all nice! Black and white is always classic but can be moderned up with polkadots. Try not to have too many colours though, can get a little complicated
I got the inspiration for my wedding from a piece of invitation paper and i have based all my colours on it. Get some bridal magazines and have a flick through. You’ll find something you love in no time!
