Something old and borrowed

My mum has a beautiful engagement ring, a sapphire surrounded by diamonds, which I was thinking as using as my combined something old and borrowed (and maybe even something blue!), however my mum is divorced. Is it bad luck to carry a divorced womans’s engagement ring, or should I just think of what it represents, a love that my parents once shared?

I personally don’t believe in superstitions or anything being bad luck. The ring sounds absolutely gorgeous, and I think it should be a personal choice. If you’re a superstitious person then you may not want to wear it. However if you love the ring and have a close relationship with your mother and it reminds you of a happier time then I don’t see why you can’t wear the ring.
