Is it rude to have a registry set up in time for the engagement party? I dont expect presents for my engagement but i know most people will want to get me something so i was thinking of setting a registry up and just keeping it open until the wedding. I know at Myer you can add and alter the registry at any time. I Just really do not want to recieve 10 x everything i already own. Im not going to put it in the invitation, but if anyone asks i will just let them know that there is a registry set up if they wish to get us a gift..
what are your thoughts?

Has anyone done this? I hear you about the double up thing Tina. To me I would appreciate it if I was going to an engagement that there was a registry, because it takes so long to figure out what to get for the couple. I will be keeping an eye on this space, very interesting

We are living together with my parents and were planning on saving for a house until HTB popped the question. Now we are paying for our wedding ourselves and want to go on a 4 week dream honeymoon to America before saving the house deposit and building our dream home. Because we won’t need anything for a house for a couple of years (everything is in storage at the moment) we have made a wishing well (or honeypot) for our engagement. Knowing guests would want to buy something we thought this would be the best idea. My cousin has set up a Flight Centre registry for her engagement so it is available right through to the wedding. I think people are grateful for the hints towards things to buy (or cash in our case) because there is nothing worse than giving a useless gift!
