Reception Costs in sydney

I am looking at receptions around sydney and have come across many with very different prices. The one I really want quoted me $134 per head. I dont have a budget as such but this is a lot more than what I was expecting to pay. What have others been quoted? and Can anyone offer any advice on how I could get them to lower the price for me?

Hi Dyanilee,
Congratulations firstly. We’ve just paid the deposit for our reception venue in Darling Harbour and ours is $135 a head. I’ve done alot of shopping around and for the inclusions we are getting in the package it really seems to be on the more reasonable side of pricing.
Ours includes in the price, single tier wedding cake, dj, chair covers (not sashes) centrepieces on tables, wedding nights accommodation in a 5 star hotel with luxury car transfer from venue to hotel. We can provide any of these things ourselves and have them taken out of the package but I don’t think it would really be worth it. I’m going to upgrade the cake to two tiers but i’m happy with the rest.
Perhaps you could try looking for a Friday or Sunday ? I know those days are cheaper by as much as $15 – $20 per head which makes alot of difference. Hope this has helped
