No help on organising the wedding (but it can definately be done as thousands of aussies get married there every year).
However on the dress situation I think 4 days would be pushing it for a wedding dress. Think of all the other things you will have to get done in those 4 days. Also I think the tailor might not be able to carry it off in 4 days. Every time I have had things made in Bali or Thailand it has taken 3 – 7 days (suits and things) so for something like a wedding dress I would expect it to take longer. Also you will want to check out the tailors as well. I wouldn’t be comfortable just going to the first one I see since quality can differ greatly.
You also need to factor in how busy the tailor might be. They could have a lots of orders placed or none you just never know and personally I wouldn’t want to risk that they have a lot of orders.
Good luck

Hi Tina,
I am currently planning my wedding in Bali
we have exactly 52 sleeps till we get married on the beach in Nusa Dua! I am loving every minute of planning it. I am also doing as many things as possible myself!
I would not recommend getting your dress made in Bali, me personally i think having the dress made in Aus and taking it over would be a lot less stress then trying to organise someone in Bali to make it in 4 days… i would be worried it wouldnt turn out right and then there would be no time to fix etc.
There are so many other things to think about and organise for your sepcial day and leaving something that close to the day might be a little tricky
Good luck with everything!
Let me know if there is anything else i can help with.

Thanks for you replies girls.
I probably wasnt clear when i said get my dresses made there. lol. I meant my bridesmaids dresses. But your right i probably would be pushing it anyway. Im going there in Nov this year for 2 and a half weeks so i might just get them made while im there this year and get my MIL to alter them if need be.
and Amanda, may i ask what are the details of your big day? did you go thru a planner, if so who did you choose? are you having the reception in a villa or hotel? which one did you choose? any info would be great tho, if you dont mind
Oh there is so much to organise im getting excited! any excuse to go to bali is a good excuse!

Hi Tina
We chose to get married at Novotel Bali Benoa in Nusa Dua, we are going directly through the wedding planner/coordinator at the hotel. We will have the ceremony on the beach and reception will be in between the pool and beach
we have chosen an Indonesian buffet for our meal. One of my big concerns was all the legal paperwork and requirements as i want our wedding to be a full legal wedding not just a blessing ceremony. Novotel are actually taking us to the Embassey to get everything legalised etc i filled out the paper work months ago!
I did look at independant wedding planners but in the end Yuli @ Novotel offered me the best service and i was much more comfortable booking direct with the hotel as we brought our wedding forward a year so we had no time to get to Bali before we made our decision. We had friends in Bali that met with Yuli to see the location for us.
If you like you can email me at bella_82@y7mail.com

Hi tina.sparkle
I am getting married in Bali in October this year and I did ALOT of research and emailing tons of wedding coordinators before finding a great team and package by Beyond Events. Natalie, from Beyond Events (yes she is an aussie, so no communication problems or misunderstandings) has been fanstastic – nothing has been too much trouble at all – I feel totally confident in her professionalism. We have about 70-80 guests coming over for our wedding and we have booked the Santi chapel @ Kunja villas to have the ceremony, then have hired a private villa in canggu – Villa Kalyani, for our reception.
Our package thru beyond events based on 70 guests is costing around 11k AUD – but that includes hair and makeup for myself and bridesmaids, photography, with a photographer you can choose, all bouquets – which you can send her pics of what you like and she will organize it for you, all villa decorations ie centrepeices – again whatever choice you like, table setup, bar setup, chair coverings, lighting, DJ or band, food and alcohol for 70 people including cocktails and four course sit down dinner, all legal fees and paperwork and the cost of the coordination. The only thing I’ve had to pay for seperately is the wedding cake – everything else has been included in the package!!
Hope this has helped =)

Hey Nixta,
And thanks for your reply! I have emailed Beyong Events, just waiting on their reply!
Im actually planning on going to Bali in Oct this year! just for a holiday tho, i need my yearly fix!
Your package sounds great that they have organized for you, especially since it is including alochol. Everyone i have emailed so far say the drink packages are like $40 pp/ph and then $30 pp/ph after the first hour!! I thought that was ridiculous! It works out to be more expensive than australia. which defeats one of the purposes of getting hitched in Bali!
I too, have a budget of around 10K for our Bali wedding, so you have definatly given me hope! May I ask who you chose for your hair and make-up?
Im going to have a look at your venues now see if i like them!

Hi Tina Sparkle
I am going to Bali in 13 days, 6 hours and 47 minutes (not that I’m counting or excited or anything…)
I am going to scout around and maybe try on some dresses and will snoop out the bridesmaid dress situation (I am going with my MOH and a group of friends – leaving fiance behind!) and will keep you posted!
