Ceremony & reception details

Hi Knotties – I am having trouble finding the perfect reception venue! I am after a private estate not too far out of Sydney (anything up to 2 hours drive I will consider) where the whole estate can be hired over a weekend and we could combine the ceremony and the reception in this one venue. What appeals to me about this type of venue is that the bridal party can get ready here and also stay there once the partying is all done. I see it on movies all the time and I know there is plenty in the country side but I can see it being a major drama getting family out to very far places.

I have found one of interest – The Mandalay in Lane Cove – however I need other options as this is a little small.

Any suggestions are much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I have looked at Boronia House in Mosman, which is lovely and we are also going to look at Dunbar House in Watson Bay. Apart from that I haven’t found much else thats in my price range. You could also look at Q Station, Stricken House and Lavendar Bay House?

There’s a place at Stanwell Tops, between Sydney & Wollongong, called Tumbling Waters Retreat. Fabulous.

hey i have booked at place called sea farm for my wedding on the nsw central coast it looks amazing and has good reviews.. there is a cottage where the girls can get readu which is seperate from the main house.. Good Luck

We are getting married at Sylvan Glen in the Southern Highlands – it has a homestead on site for the family and wedding party (12 rooms i think…), 2 beautiful places for the ceremony and a gorgeous venue for the reception
