Photographer question

Mon 7 Nov 2011 11:15AM posts 4

Hey there, just a quick question my photographer hangs around for an hour into the reception does this mean I’m either going to have to pay him to eat dinner or do my bridal waltz straight away because originally I wanted to do it after the cake cutting after dinner… What Would you do?

Hi Vonnie,

You must read your contract with your photographer, it should state in there whether or not a meal is to be provided. Mine is staying for the majority of our reception so I know I need to provide a meal for him.

Best thing to do is to ask him if he requires a meal or not if it is not stated in your contract.

I’m just in the looking stage at the moment and am not sure if I want or can afford for him to hang around for much longer than the hour at the reception what would the photographerbe doing during this hour? People would most likely be eating dinner…

Hi,

It pays to shop around as some photographers charge heaps more than others for the same quality of work. It depends on how much you can afford, but I saved more than $1000 by shopping around.

There is a photographer in the Central Coast area who offers a few different packages ranging in price from $1000 to $2500. The site is http://www.gtrphotography.com.au

Most photographers require some kind of meal at the reception, some venues can provide a cheaper meal for the photographer.

If you would like to avoid offering the photographer a meal, I would suggest breaking into your first dance at the beginning of the reception, and you could also cut the cake straight away, and then after that the photographer could leave.

All the best with whatever you decide.
