Paper Pattern

I would love an outsiders view please on a very minor issue! I can not seem to choose a paper pattern for my menus, table numbers and place cards.
The theme is slate and pink, and I was planning to have slate coloured writing and ribbons against a pink pattered background.
The centrepieces are mixed pink carnation balls in square vases, on a slate runner (long tables).
I can not choose the paper between a formal elegant pattern (pink damask); stylish (circles or floral) or fun (polka dots or stripes).
I don’t want it to look like a kids party, which is why I keep steering away from dots etc.
The wedding is outdoors, overlooking the beach and is quite relaxed, however I still want it to look like a wedding!
Would love your thoughts or suggestions…

Hi Lauren_Mick
Polka dots can still look wedding-y if you do it right. I used beautiful clear/frosted paper with different coloured polka dots, pinned to a silvery piece of card for our engagement invites. I think they captured who we are and our theme (which is rainbow and funky) but still managed to capture the elegance of the occasion (ok the bowls club isn’t particularly elegant, but I dressed to impress!) If you do want to go with the dots, just class it up, which having the ribbons should do.
However with the image I have in my head of what your wedding is going to look like, I would lean towards the stylish.
Have fun!
