October 2013

Are there any October 2013 couples out there yet?

We chose the date because it’s the day between my birthday and FH’s birthday :) 19 October 2013, FH always said we’d get married on that day but given he said that when we apstarted dating in 2006 it’s hard to believe

We’ve been engaged since 10 March 2012

So far have the venue, cars, photobooth (got an awesome deal at the wedding expo) next things on my hit list are videographer and photographer (these seem to be hard) and celebrant, the rest given that we have almost 18 months can wait… Glad we have some much time as it has given us lots of flexibility and choice (plus time to save).

With much of the big things done I can focus on the engagement party (2 June 2012) and get back to house hunting which has been on the back burner for a bit..

Any comments from people planning on getting married in late 2013?

We have the same wedding date :)

I really wanted the first weekend in October but the venue was already booked for the first 2 weekends!!! Couldnt believe it, so far out too!

So far we have only booked the venue and the cars! Its extra hard for us as we live in Sydney but are getting married in Perth! So hard to go and look at decorators and meet with photographers etc, alhtough the internet helps alot!

I have started ress shopping already, couldnt resist! Have you been looking?

Good luck :)

I’ve done cars, venue and photobooth(because I got an awesome deal at an expo if I booked early).

I know we were venue shopping in March how quickly they were booking up.

I haven looked at dresses yet! Next on my hit list is photographer, videographer and celebrant!

It must b hard doing it interstate! Maybe you can go visit when an expo is on!

They are having a wedding expo at my venue so I’m going to take my mum because she didn’t get to see it before I booked as I had to be speedy! Will be so nice to see it all set up.

Currently, main focus is the engagement party is 2 June

Oh yay! We had our engagement party back in April, it was such a great night! We got a girl who had just started out in photography to come along for the night, it was great to have so many photos, and no one had to walk around with a camera for the night! If you have any room in your budget for it I would def recommend having one!

Im just looking at photographers now, egtting some quotes but yes I have no idea how im going to do it,  I really want to do everything myself, but i dont think it will be possible, may have to have people go meet with them for me!

Thats great your venue is having an expo! seeing it all set up is so much better than just the plain venue!

Good luck with the engagement party :)

Pretty in pink, we booked our photographer today.

What I ended up doing with the seemingly endless photographers is google, get them to email their packages/check the, out on their website and scope out their online profiled.

Once I worked out a style and what I would be comfortable paying I narrowed them down to three to start with the I considered meeting and then figured if we didn’t like the three we met we could go back to the other options but these three were the favorites.

Perhaps for you a phone interview/discussion would help because we met with one today and our personalities clicked and he was right on target for what we want. He was my favorite from the outset and FH who’s not all that fussed on it was very impressed, we didn’t even bother with the others.

Its such a mammoth task and it’s do easy to get confused. I’d say work out the price ranges first, that way you can weed out exactly who you can afford. I decided to look at the $3k mark which seems to be on e lower side but didn’t want to pay much ,ore than that.. I initially just wanted coverage and CD only but FH loved the album so we splurged to the next package which I think was $3750? We get full coverage (no hour limit) 1 20 page album,  3 art mounts, dvd and online gallery.

I guess if you can chat with them it helps even if it’s over the phone so you can get a sense of exact,Ty what they are offering and their style!

Thanks for that! You would not believe how much I feel my head is going to explode today! i have been pouring over websites and quotes, its all so much! And not being able to meet people really sucks, but I might do what you suggested, whittle down to afew and go from there with phone interviews!

Your package sounds great! How exciting another thing to cross off the list :)

I felt the same way, there is light at the end of the tunnel and you will get through it! :) I’m now looking at celebrants and meeting with who we think we’ll book for a videographer and then I can sit back for a while and relax!

Hello ladies,
We’re getting married on 26th October. I’ve started looking at venues etc, but my fiance’ seems to think I’m organising the wedding all too early. Is he correct? How early should I start planning? I just don’t want to stress out & rush planning… help!
