Guests & the bridal party

hey guys,

have been on here many of times as just a reader but im finding it rather difficult to say anything to anyone else…. im in a bit of a pickle as to whom to ask to be bridesmaid… i do have few close girlfriends but none of whom i would call my “bff” so to speak… ive always said im never having a bridesmaid as i would rather have no one than to have one of my good friends get her nose out of joint coz i didnt choose her!!  we are in the midst of planning for mayb next year so i have plenty time to decide i guess… 1 or none?!

It is fine to have no bridesmaids. There are no rules as to how many is the right number to have! Also since your wedding is next year you don’t even have to worry about it yet! A lot can change in 6 months which is why it is recommended not to pick your bridal party until 6 months out.

You could meet your BFF in the next 6 months or fall out with one of your close GF’s so take your time and really think about who you couldn’t see yourself standing up there without (besides your FI of course!)

I agree with j_jaye, you do not need to have a bridesmaid.  I had only one bridesmaid – it made all the decisions so much easier.  I do not really have a “BFF” but chose someone who is a great friend, supportive of my relationship, easy going, not high maintenance and very reliable (and she was the most perfect bridesmaid).  Good luck with your decision!!
