Hi Ladies,
I am after some advice on what is a good brand of foundation to buy. I’ve read through some other posts and people are guessing that some brands are better in regards to photography (not showing up the shineyness).
I am getting married out side in early March so I don’t want my make-up to run in the warm weather.
Thanks for your advice,
Caroline

I really like MAC studio fix, as the title suggests it’s designed for long wearing use in a studio or photoshoot so has excellent non shiny coverage. If you apply on top of a primer and set with loose powder this will also help with longevity and fighting shine!
Visit a MAc store and they will match your skintone for you

If you dont have the money for MAC, Revlon have foundation, concealer and finisher called PhotoReady. Im using that and it looks real good.

I have the same problem, only mine is paired with VERY light skin! But if your skin is a normal colour then MAC is DEFINITELY worth it! I have their mascara and it’s the best I’ve ever used. If I can find a MAC foundation which is light enough I will be using that for sure. Just keep some powder on hand for your forhead, nose, and chin. They’re usually the worst places to be shiney in photos.

Agree, MAC is the best
and I’m extremely fair skinned and it suits me just right

I used to use Revlon, but once I switched to MAC I’ll never go back! It does cost more, but lasts way longer as you don’t need to reapply so much. I usually only need to but one bottle of Studio fix no more than 3 times a year! If you can go and visit a MAC store, they can add tints and highlights to the foundation to lighten it and match your skin tine exactly. Remeber if you’re bronzing on the day or getting a fake tan that this will also change your skintone. I’m having a spray tan trial 48 hours before my makeup trial to see how it all works together.

As a word of warning, if you’re looking at using a new foundation, try it out in advance as what works for one person may not work on another.
MAC is a case in point – many people will swear by their foundations, others will not touch it with a 10 ft pole! I used to wear MAC foundation every day and while it gave excellent coverage, I always had spots across my cheeks that wouldn’t clear no matter what cleansers I used.
It wasn’t until I was away on holiday, forgot my MAC, had to use a different brand that my skin suddenly cleared and I realised it was the Foundation. I know of others who have had similar issues too.
If you’re looking for something to photograph well, avoid products that contain an SPF as this can cause your face to wash out or look white/pale in photos. Makeup Forever, Face Atelier, MAC and Smashbox can all work well depending on your personal preference and skin.

Kryolan is also a good brand that a lot of make up profesionals use – their TV paint stick comes up great in photos and is pretty inexpensive.
Also be sure to have blotting tissues on hand in case of any oil on the night. From memory The Body Shop sell these for about $5.
Good Luck!
