February 2013

Hey everyone…anyone else getting hitched In Feb 2013. I’m so excited, can’t wait.

I’ve picked out a nice venue near a beach, haven’t booked it yet because (lucky me) my dad’s work is having their Christmas party at the very same place, so I’ll get to roadtest it before I sign the contract (YAY!).

Once we’ve booked that I’ve got a photographer lined up too. Then it’s just the ceremony location and the celebrant. I still haven’t found a celebrant I like yet. I did speak to Ann Dally, and she was very nice but I’m concerned because she mentioned we’d have to hire a PA system, on top of her $500 fee (Yikes!). You think they’d have their own mic and amp, like a sprucer, but apparently not. Plus I think I’d prefer a male celebrant…don’t know why.

I’m so psyched guys! We’re having an engagement party between Christmas and New Years for the whole brood (FH and I live in Sydney, my family’s in QLD and his is in VIC). Just gonna have a BBQ in the back yard, boat streamers, bunting, balloons…you know.

So at the moment I’m puncuating boring uni assignments with exciting wedding research…really need to work on my priorities right. lol

Oh! Also my e-ring has been shipped. lol I got a beatiful white gold setting with a lab made sapphire. I don’t like the diamond industry (not that I have anything against diamonds I just would prefer not to pay a 500% mark up on a bit of rock, if you can afford it go nuts, FH and I can’t…also one of my friends from high school was a refugee from Sierra Leone, I couldn’t imagine the look on her face if she saw it) and as a scientist I love the idea of a lab-made stone (FH and I met at uni doing a Science degree). I’m so excited!

And I figured out my colours, cornflour blue and lilac. They look so good together, at first I was worried it would look too high-school-formal-ly, but it actually works. Especially with the beach theme, as long as I don’t add silver I should be right.

This wedding planning thing is a rollercoaster huh? So far I’ve been ridiculously excited and damn depressed. lol

Anyway, I’ve probably chewed your ear for long enough (or chewed your eyes…idk) hope everyone else is having as much fun planning as I am!

Hi Dramione27, I’ma Feb 2013 bride too! We’re also getting married on the coast, up on Whale Beach.

I’m loving the planning and having so much time to choose everything – no stress whatsoever at the moment (although that might change nearer the time!)

I’ve also developed a bit of an addiction to the bridal catwalk shows on the Vogue website…. always worth a look to break up your uni work! :)

Hope everything is going great for your big day!

I’m on such a wedding-planning high at the moment.

My e-ring arrived and everyone’s been saying how pretty it is :D

I’ve just ordered my Engagement invites, gonna have the party in January so almost exactly a year before the wedding, and just before FH and I go on our annual holiday to the Gold Coast. Woo Hoo!

The venue near the beach has pretty much fallen through because the sites around it to have the ceremony have really strict regulations…you’re only allowed a maximum of 20 chairs, it’s a bit ridiculous, apparently most places in Sydney are like that, so we’re looking at the Central Coast now. Found a really nice place, gonna check it out in a couple weeks and put a deposit on it if we like it. Don’t want to say too much yet, might jinx it, but if we lock in the site I’ll be on the forum bragging in no time. lol

So psyched! Once we book the venue all the real planning can start. :D

Hope you’re going well too veesoulmusic!

I just bought my dress on the weekend. It’s gorgeous…now I just have to fit into it. lol

We went to the venue weekend before last, it’s absolutely gorgeous and the food was absolutely amazing. We should be putting a deposit on it this weekend, the date we’ve picked is 2/2/2013. :D

I’ll tell everyone more about the venue once it’s booked (don’t wanna jinx it).

The engagement invites arrived and I found a gorgeous calligraphy font to print the addresses with. Just waiting for the rest of the addresses from family members.

Figured out the cake and the favours and my FH has been so good about the planning.

The thing we’re having the most trouble with is the wedding invitations. Just can’t seem to find a style we really like. lol

I am loving how quickly FH and I are knocking out these big decisions, picked our honeymoon last night an 11 night cruise around the south pacific. Now we just have to go to a travel agent and book it.

I paid the deposit for the venue yesterday by EFT, they’ll contact me when the money hits the account to confirm our date is booked. I’m so excited!

So that’s dress done, venue done, caterer done, ceremony site done, honeymoon done, and we’ve decided on cakes and favours too! Oh and I know where I’ll be getting my flowers too! From Loveflowers!

Now it’s just the nitty gritty stuff like stationery and decorations. The biggest resistance I’m hitting is that FH wants black and white and something classy, I want our theme on the stationery (blue and purple). So I’m thinking if I can get a classy white bordered invitation and then put blue and purple swirls in the background. I think he’ll love that!

I contacted my photographer and she won’t be booking that far in advance until next year at the earliest. So that’s good too.

Still have to book a celebrant, they’re so expensive. How does it cost $500 to fill out some paperwork and stand there for 30 minutes to conduct a ceremony? I should get into the business, getting $1000 a weekend to do hardly anything sounds sweet!

So psyched about all this!

Miss Kate

Hello!

We haven’t locked in the date yet but it’s looking like Feb 2013 :) We want as much as possible to be held outside so going for earlier in the year.

We live in Melbourne now but are both from Adelaide so holding it there where all our friends and family are! I went dress shopping with Mum today and found a gorgeous dress for under $1000 so it’s going well so far!

Can’t wait to lock in a venue and get going on the decorations and theme. I’m doing the invites myself too, and we’ve got an engagement party coming up on April 1 (no joke!).

Can’t wait to see how everyone’s plans come along!

Miss Kate x

Hi feb brides,

we are having fun planning our big day for feb 16 2013, FH has made some great input so far, his not big on the planning side of things so i have been making insperation boards online and seeing his responses lol,

we had originally planned 2 weddings during summer here with my family our friends and my 4 children and in july in america in summer there as FH is from America and most his family live in Utah. non mormon, lol

I have had great help from my MIL every step of the way, we have now swapped the 2 wedding idea for plane tickets for FH mum,dad & siblings to share one day for a fairytale wedding instead of two small low budget days.

So far we have picked our colours, cake, ordered my dress n picked my MOH
