Destination Invitations

Sun 4 Sep 2011 11:08AM posts 6

Hello Everyone,

We are having our wedding in Airlie Beach next year and I am really struggling to find some invitations to suit. As we are travelling from Melbourne we are looking for something that can provide our guests with a lot of detail but not be too over the top.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I DIY’d my own invites (passport invites) and hawaiibride did her own boarding pass invites (which might work better as it is an interstate wedding). There is a template on aylee bits (or something like that google boarding pass invite) website.

A few sellers on etsy.com will also custom make them for you.

We put most of the extra information on a wedding website rather than having a hundred insert cards in the invite. You can get a free website from lots of websites but I found weebly the best.

Good luck

Thanks j-jaye! I’ll look in to it!!! =)

Jojo, we are getting married at the Whitsunday Pavillion at the sailing club on the 19th May next year… about 8 months to go eeek! I feel like I haven’t organised anything!! I’m guessing you’re getting married at villa botanica? We looked there but just couldn’t afford it… it is a beautiful location though! =D

Hi Laurz87,

The whitsunday pavillion is also beautiful, i think its pretty hard to find a not beautiful location in that part of the world! We gave ourselves two years to save for the wedding, otherwise there is NO way we could have afforded it and we will also be having only 20-30 guests.

The last year has gone sooooo fast and Im sure the next one will go very fast too. Have you started looking at hotels and transport etc? I called Peninsula Apartments (its called something like that) and said we were getting married in the area and they straight up gave us 30-40% off all their apartments for our guests.

Any plans for your honeymoon yet?

Hey Laurz,

Congrats on your upcoming destination wedding.

As J_jaye said – I made my own boarding pass invitations.

Here is a link to my fb page to show you what types of invites I have done :)
