Dance lessons?

Mon 3 May 2010 10:47AM posts 5

I have two left feet and am planning on taking bridal dance lessons with my fiancee before the big day!

Has anyone been attending dance lessons? How has it been going? Do you have any tips to pass on?

Also, if you’re in Sydney, who have you been seeing?

Thanks!!

I am a dance teacher and while I dont teach ballroom, dancing isnt a problem for me. My FH on the other hand, flat out doesnt dance… he says Im not allowed to teach him and that ’he’ll take care of it’. I have no idea what that means but im looking forward to it haha.

The easiest way to source bridal dance lessons is through ballroom dancing studios, i think dancelife might have a listing (just google them) OR if you want something more relaxed that just teachers you both how to move around together and basic rhythmn (instead of waltz etc) approach the teacher at a local dance studio, they’ll be able to show you a couple of tricks to get out of looking awkward and feeling self concious :)

Hi Karlee my fiance and I are thinking of dance lesson so we dontlook stupid on the day. We had a complementry first lesson with Auther Murry Dance  Studios to see what if we liked it.  We  went to there Castle Hill Studio  but i think they have a few around Sydney to see if we like it, they seem quiet nice so we are thinking of going with them. we’re thinking of doing about 3 months of lessons 12 lesson  with Auther Murry is $600 . Good luck.

Hi Karlee,

Arthur Murray Dance Academy offers I think it is 2 free lessons and then a group lesson. They have studios in the city as well as Castle Hill.

Good Luck!

It seems an awful lot of work and very costly – for 3 minutes worth of dance…

then again, it is pretty important.

I recently went to a wedding where the bride and groom had professional lessons for months before the wedding and the dance was fantastic! Very memorable.
