7 months will fly by, how exciting for you, im down to 11 months now =)

are you talking about on the day beauty plan or the leadup to the day? i have no idea about on the day but during the leadup i can give you a few tips…

drink plenty of water!! you know its good for you in so many ways, but it will ensure you have nice clear skin too.

cut down the salt especially the few days before the wedding, excess salt can cause puffiness around the eyes and dark circles (it also causes bloating =( )

increase your omega 3 intake (essential fatty acids) things like avocado, nuts, oily fish like salmon etc- omega 3 will give you strong nails and beautiful shiny hair and clear skin.omega 3 has also been found to help reduce stress which is a bonus leading up to a wedding!

eat lots of vitamin c foods (oranges, tomatoes, kiwi etc) this will help make your skin too
(it helps with collagen production) vitamin c will also help your immaune system and you dont want to be sick on the big day

and vitamin b is great, not only does it help keep your skin in great condition but its good for energy levels. vitamin b can be found in oats, egg yolk, green leafy vegetables legumes and berrys.

hope that helps =D

Congrats on your engagement! Very exciting! Loving the above suggestions! All great ideas I wouldn’t have thought of. I was going to suggest more superficial beauty plans.

Facial – no less than 1 week before the day, so any breakouts caused by the impurities being flushed from your skin have cleared up

Spray tan – Between 3 days to 36 hours before - late enough to still look fab on the day but early enough to exfoliate the hell out of it if it comes out patchy or too dark

Brazilian – day before – don’t want it all red looking (that goes for any waxing actually, eyebrows etc too)

Massage – some time in the week leading up to wedding. Not essential of course but I think a little zen time on your own to clear your head & focus on the big things rather than all the little things we seem to get bogged down with when planning

Nails – depending on if you wear them all the time or if its something you are only getting for your wedding. You want to get them as close to the wedding as possible (ie week of) so they look natural, but if your not used to them they’ll annoy the heck out of you & you’ll regret having them. In that case maybe get them done 3-4 weeks pre wedding then just filled a few days before the day.  I would suggest gel nails on the toes (if you have open shoes that is, probably doesn’t matter if no-one will see it) coz they look more natural & nicer. Probably toes the week of wedding too

Hair colour – I would NOT suggest any drastic hair colour changes before the wedding. In a perfect world you should have the hair colour you want on your wedding day while your in the dress shopping stage so how it looks in the boutique is how it will look when you walk down the aile. Hair colour can make a big difference to your whole look. If you have to colour your hair like I do then just get your roots done at your regular salon a week or so out from the wedding. If you have beautiful natural hair then I am jealous!

Anyway Hope that helps, I have rabbited on far too much – Good luck and I’m sure you will look amazing on your special day with or without all the full on beauty regime

I’ve gone a little OCD and created a colour-coded beauty planner calendar in excel LOL.  I worked backwards from my wedding date so I knew the best days to start for facials, hair, nails, and I’m getting some laser hair removal done in time for the honeymoon too.  I’ve put my pay days in there so I know how I have to budget in advance.

I’m doing a facial every 4 weeks (I get terrible breakouts so trying to nip it before the big day!) and hair every 8 weeks to keep it in top condition.  I’m starting the nails a couple of months out too, because they can be quite thick to start with when they put the tips on, so it will give me enough time to grow the tips out and get used to them.

The eating healthy, exercise etc is all good to start now too, because you can ease into it and then when you hit it hardcore a couple of months out it’s not such a shocker!  I started the facials 8 months out so I think you’re at a good time.

Wow!  Glad I read this thread.  Fab idea with the excel spreadsheet.  May convert that into my google calendar!

I’ve got a year to go but I’m scared something will go wrong in that time so I’m thinking I’ll be starting a regime soonish.

My first priority is getting my eyebrows into shape and finding the right beautician for that has been hard but I think I’ve found her and have already started on a re-growth program.  I feel like my eyebrows really change the way I look so hence why they’re my first thing to tackle.  Considering tinting them as well.

Will also be starting a course of laser hair removal so that I am hair free by next year.  Will consider microdermabrasion as well maybe a course starting from 9 months before.  Other than that regular exercise.  Will definitely be decreasing my salt intake after reading this thread!

Congratts! It’s super exciting times ahead. I have a collection of advice from dermatologists and beautician that I’d love to share.

I am a year away from my wedding and I have been to see a dermatologist. This was she will assess my skin exact needs and requirements.

They tell you the inside secrets & products that are not expensive but work the best.

Couple of tips & hints though:

1. Drink plenty of water.

2. Get 8+ hours sleep (I know this sounds silly and something like your Mum would tell you, but trust me it works)

3. Strongly recommend getting eye lashes tinted. Not only does it frame the eyes, but it also makes mascara application easy as. (probs more for the lead up week)

4. Exfoliate, exfoliate & exfoliate. Anyone can wash face, tone, put a mask on and then slather in cream! I do strongly recommend of course professional facials. Know your skin & know how long it takes to recover from facial…

5. Always not matter how tired you are take your makeup off. This is so important; I keep facial wipes next to the bed for those emergency situations LOL.

I hope at this 1 thing was helpful, that way it will be worth reading. xx

Hi all, i know this is an older post but thought I would comment as it may help others.

A lady I work with took silica tablets for a while. Its credited to work wonders for your hair and nails, strength and shine etc, but her skin also looked fantastic as well! You can get them at most health food stores.

While i havent set a definate  plan yet (still 2.5yrs away), i will be taking these tablets for prob 1 yr before and i hope to have monthly hair treatments and facials/manicures done for at least 6 months before hand (depends on money). I am also going to try to get FH to get facials as well as he can get some bad breakouts from time to time.

For super soft skin all over, start using a sugar scrub once a week on your body and limbs – not on your face or throat. They are so easy to make and work wonders, my skin is like butter. Take 1/2 cup plain sugar, a tablespoon of oil (I use almond, but grape seed is nice too, and any vegetable oil works in a pinch) and a few drops (1-3 only!!) of an essential oil (not fragrance oil). Mix it together, jump in the shower and wet your skin, switch off the shower and scrub away gently. If the scrub is too dry add a little water. For silky hands and feet, use raw sugar.
