Anyone have a Unity Ceremony?

Are you having one?
Which one?
I have been looking into it and there are lots of different ones, not just candles. Including sand, water, roses, salt, rocks and wine.
I was thinking of doing one, not sure which yet. I think they are a sweet idea, to unite you as one…but on the other hand I wonder if we should. Even though we are not married yet I already think of us as one. We will be together 10 years by the time of our wedding it feels as if we have always been us, and I wonder if there is any point in doing the ceremony when we already feel as one. Unless I look at it as a symbol of the new stage in our lives?
I don’t know. Thoughts?

We thought about the tied hands unity but decided against it. We basically thought that there’s no need to have one special played out symbol of the new stage of our lives, because that’s what our wedding ring stands for…and of course my new last name (hehe)
I know what you mean though, we already have a daughter and are like an old married couple and I too have doubted having a ceremony. But, we want everyone to share in our unity of our love and to share our vows and make them public, I believe, there’s nothing more beautiful than the public display of love (verbally, not physically, lol
)
I don’t know if that’s any help, but it’s another way to look at it
