Taronga Zoo Wedding Venue Revitalized
The wedding venues at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo have had a facelift!
by Erin Whitty
Would you call yourselves animal lovers? If you swoon at the sight of anything cute and cuddly or dream of going on safari, then consider tying the knot at Taronga Zoo!
Two large reception spaces, The Harbourview Ballroom and the Harbourview Terrace, both with sweeping 180 degree harbour views, have been subject to a lick of paint, modern new light fittings, flooring and chairs. And look at how beautiful they are set up for weddings:
The Harbourview Terrace fits 150 guests for a sit down meal or 300 guests for drinks and canapes. Or if you have a large guests list then, one floor up, the Harbourview Ballroom will accomodate 250 seated or 400 for drinks and canapes.
Further into the zoo, there’s a gorgeous little enclosed pergola, the Harbourview Garden Court. Many couples choose this intimate nook to hold their ceremony.
Then you can have your picture taken together with your *favourite animal. We love this idea:
And your guests can encounter the animals too. Keepers can bring certain small animals into the reception space — won’t that be a conversation piece?!
Taronga Zoo has weekend openings from winter 2013, with some availability mid-week before then. For more information or to arrange a site inspection visit the website, tarongacentre.com.au.
Would you like to have your wedding day at the zoo?
