A Pastel Outdoor Wedding

Maya and David say they had five priorities: colour (they’re obsessed with it), comfort, their Mexican-American heritage, a love of flea markets and making sure Maya’s late grandparents would be remembered.

Modern Boutonniere

Dave wore a boutonniere of brunia, allium and trachelium flowers and bulbs on his lapel.

Garden Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place beneath a 200-year-old tree in the centre of the venue. Long jewel-toned ribbons hung from the branches.

Hanging Floral Decor

Small vintage glass bottles filled with one or two blooms hung from the chairs along the ceremony aisle and added lots of colour.

Papel Picado Banners

As a nod to the couple’s heritage, papel picado banners decorated the reception.

Vintage Wedding Centrepieces

Flea market frequenters, the couple collected 215 vessels and filled them with peonies and dahlias, among other colourful blooms.

Pink Place Settings

Coral napkins and fuchsia napkin cards wrapped with twine added colour to the simple white china.

Vintage Dessert Bar

The couple spruced up a vintage dresser for their dessert buffet table. The cake and cupcakes were displayed on dishware that had been passed down from Maya’s grandparents.
