Will Hats Make a Comeback for Wedding Guests?
The Royal Wedding will be responsible for setting a lot of trends all over the world when it comes to your bridal style. Expect to see a lot of lace gowns and white bridesmaid gowns walking down aisles for years to come, but another trends we’re keen to see take off is the return of the hats for female wedding guests. From the classic to the bold, hats were a must for royal wedding guests.
My favourite hat of the day was worn by the ever beautiful Princess Letizia of Spain. She matched her pleated blush gown with an understated Felipe Varela hat that featured feathers and a delicate veil. Even though her gown was pretty matchy-matchy in terms of colour, she cleverly added interest by mixing up textures with a lace dress, patent shoes and satin gloves.
Zara Phillips went for a more classic, but no less eye catching look at her cousins wedding ceremony. Wearing a coat by Irish designer, Paul Costello, she topped it off with a large black hat that seemed to defy gravity by actually staying on her head!
In a daring move, Princess Beatrice, teamed her Valentino coat with a slightly strange Philip Treacy ‘bow’ hat that has the fashion pack divided. Treacy must have been one very busy man in the lead up to the wedding, having reportedly designed 35 hats for attending guests!
What do you think of Princess Beatrice’s hat, is it custom made fabulousness or just plain wacky? Will hats make a comeback for wedding guests?
