Kate Middleton’s Gown Revealed!

The wait is over! After months of speculation Princess Catherine of Cambridge’s Wedding gown has finally arrived. A radiant Kate stepped out of her car at Westminster Abbey to reveal a stunning lace and satin gown designed by Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton. The silhouette is an absolutely perfect choice for the ever stylish Kate, the V-neckline and elegant sleeves adhering to the strict guidelines required of a Royal wedding gown, while the silhouette shows off her svelte and athletic figure. As anticipated Kate chose to pair her lace edged veil with a traditional style tiara that makes her face absolutely sparkle. The new Princess complimented her iconic sapphire and diamond engagement ring with a divine drop earring creating a unified bridal style that is sure to impress her Prince. This elegant gown will no doubt inspire brides for years to come as Princess Diana of Wales and Princess Grace of Monaco’s gowns have done before her, and we think it is only a matter of time before designers around the world starting rolling out Princess Catherine inspired gowns. We can’t imagine the pressure that Kate would have been feeling in the lead up to the wedding, every bride agonises over her gown choice but it’s a unanimous decision here at The Knot HQ that we love Kate’s bridal style!

And now a word from the dress designer herself, Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen: “Alexander McQueen’s designs are all about bringing contrasts together to create startling and beautiful clothes and I hope that by marrying traditional fabrics and lacework, with a modern structure and design we have created a beautiful dress for Catherine on her wedding day.”

What do you think of Kate’s gown? Has it lived up to the hype?
