If you are in Melbourne this weekend you’ll want to head to the Immigration Museum on Sunday March 18, to experience the extremely delicious, one-day only, Sweet Festival.
Immerse yourself in some of the tastiest and creative treats from around the world which are being made especially for the event by Victoria’s talented Indian, Italian, Japanese, Mauritian and Turkish communities. These mouth-watering delicacies are sure to get all your dessert receptors firing.
Another reason to spend your Sunday indulging yourself in adorable sweets? The festival is the perfect opportunity to draw inspiration for fresh ideas a new dessert to serve at your wedding reception or a colourful international bomboniere for your guests to take home.
Food providers include Caffe e Cucina, Dolcetti, Funky Curry, Haci Usta Cake Shop, Sweet India, Triceangle and local community groups. You can expect to try everything from baklava, cannoli, mochi, moti choor ladoo and napolitains along with Turkish coffee, vanilla tea and cherry sherbet.
P.S. If your fiancé can’t stomach too much sugar don’t fret, there will be some savoury dishes served to keep the cuisine balance from tipping completely over the edge.
