Five Favourites From The Ultimate Bridal Event in Sydney
Didn’t make it to Summer Edition of The Ultimate Bridal Event in Sydney over the weekend? Not to worry – The Knot went for those who couldn’t make it.
by Alicia Richardson
Over the weekend thousands of newly engaged women (and some of their fiances) flocked to The Ultimate Bridal Event Summer Edition in Sydney with the aim of finding wedding suppliers and ideas. Our Fashion Editor, Alex Thompson, and I went along with the aim of picking out five of our favourite trends.
• JASONGRECH White
Designer Jason Grech has the objective of “turning each bride into the most beautiful woman in the world” and his wedding dresses are certainly among the most divine in the world. His bridal gowns were the stars of the show. Shown right is JASONGRECH White Fairytale. To see details and more from range visit our JASONGRECH White Wedding Dress Gallery
• Funky Photo Booths
A great way to get some fun (or even quite hysterical) pictures for the wedding album and put everyone in a good mood is to have retro photo booths set up at the reception. Somehow when you hand a few props to anyone not matter what age or if they are camera shy, when they jump behind a curtain posing becomes suddenly simple. Australian Booth Company service both Melbourne and Sydney, and hire includes an attendant. See above for shots of Alex & I being silly for the camera! www.australianphotobooths.com.au
• Colourful Ice Cream Cones
Go one step further than a cake and hand out ice-cream cones in tones that match the wedding theme for dessert. Go for aqua blue, cherry red or baby pinks with chocolate sprinkled on top. Not only will this have a great impact but any kids at the party (and let’s face it we are all kids at heart) will feel super special. See image below with some colours available.

• Booty Camp for Brides
Getting in shape a priority right now? You are not alone. To keep the party spirit high sign up with your bridesmaids to a girls only Booty Camp. You can talk wedding talk in between squats, sprints and push ups knowing that you’ll be svelte and full of energy for the wedding day. www.bootycamp.com.au
• Pretty Bird Cage Decorations
Create an old school charm feel to your weddign reception by using antique style bird cages as decoration throughout the wedding reception. Place on tables with candles for centrepieces or have hanging as shown by in decor styled by wedding decorators Romeo’s Chair. www.romeoschair.com.au
