Drew Barrymore’s Secret Wedding Details

The much adored Hollywood actress and director, Drew Barrymore, had to grow up in front of the world after she starred in the huge Spielberg film E.T. (she was just seven years old when the film came out in 1982). So it’s no surprise that she decided to keep her third marriage, to art consultant Will Kopelman, as private as she possibly could.
Some details of their weekend wedding are starting to filter out though, so we thought we’d fill you in on what’s been discovered at this point in time.
Barrymore is a regular at the front row of the Chanel shows, plus Kopelman’s father previously held the position of CEO of Chanel, so you guessed it, she was dressed by the legendary French fashion house. Images of her wedding gown have yet to be seen, but it was custom designed for Barrymore by Karl Lagerfeld himself, and has been described as a long, white and pleated made with a combination of muslin and organza. Plus the dress was embellished with tulle and feathers along the skirt and a black satin belt highlighting her waist. She also wore a black Chanel jacket over the gown later in the evening.
Barrymore’s pregnancy is one of the world’s worst kept secrets right now, but this style would have no doubt flattered her expectant figure (and sounds similar to the look she wore to the New York Ballet in May 2012 – see image). She matched this gown with Chanel fine jewellery and her maid of honour Cameron Diaz was also dressed by Chanel.
The wedding was held at Barrymore’s Montecito, California, estate. Guests were invited to sip on delicious cocktails on the lawn, before the service was held in a sheltered marquee tent. The groom’s family rabbi, was flown in from New York for the ceremony.
Then, after garden photos were snapped by the official photographer, the party started with sounds of the 80’s being played all night by a tribute band Barrymore chose. Apparently it’s one of her favourite decades when it comes to music and good times!
The celebrations wrapped up for the newlyweds at two in the morning when they departed to spend a night at San Ysidro Ranch in a sleep Mercedes, decorated with streamers and pretty roses. Details of the honeymoon location are not known at this point, but with Drew calling the shots, it’s sure to be more than a whole lot of fun.
P.S. While we don’t have an image to show of Drew’s gown we are hoping that Karl Lagerfeld may post an illustration of the dress on the official Chanel site , much like he did with the wedding gown he designed for Lily Allen in 2011 and she wore to her private reception (see image and illustration).
