Australian ‘Royal’ Couple Wed in Secret

Australian cricket ‘royalty’ couple Michael Clarke, 31, and his girlfriend Kyly Boldy, 30, chose the opposite path to marriage than most celebrity couples. Instead of a big, bold wedding, with the rights sold off to and then splashed about the media; the couple snuck off to the Blue Mountains on Tuesday 15^th May 2012 and exchanged vows in front of a small group of family.

They then announced their new union via Twitter last night along with beautifully shot images, which they made available to the general public along with their declarations of happiness. They had managed to keep the details of the wedding secret from not such the media, but also Cricket Australia, who found out about this romantic move via Twitter as well.

Much like the many centuries (and even double centuries) that Clarke has been hitting since being made the captain of the Australian cricket team, this latest move also has received a standing ovation. Congratulations and comments of support flooding in about the romantic direction they have taken from celebrities and the public alike.

Boldy, a model and brand ambassador, posted a simple tweet sharing that she was the “Luckiest woman in the world!”, and that Tuesday had been the “Greatest day of my life, so proud to be your wife”.

Clarke’s twitter announcement shared that he was the “Happiest guy in the world. Married @KylyBoldy yesterday in front of our gorgeous families. Couldn’t be happier!”

They then also revealed via Twitter that wedding gown was a joint effort, with Boldy designing it with the help of Alex Perry and Clarke’s suit was by Louis Vuitton. The location was equally as top notch, held at the six-star Wolgan Valley resort, which is considered one of the most exclusive retreats in Australia.
