Pantone recently released their 2011 colour of the year – Honeysuckle – and we were happy to see that The Knot may have influenced them just a smidgeon, as it is almost identical to the colour of our launch magazine cover.

A big move from the 2010 Pantone colour of year, which was turquoise, honeysuckle has been chosen to “embolden us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigour” for its ability to encourage and uplift. In addition it is said that honeysuckle “elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.” This colour has pretty impressive powers!
Honeysuckle is most certainly a very flattering shade to dress your bridal party in – the hue will help to give the lucky person wearing it a healthy glow – and will no doubt also be popular with brides for decorating their wedding reception.
Apparently...“In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating colour that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues,” explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother colour red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.” So while we hope that no Knottie brides will be feeling blue on their wedding day, there is no harm in having a wedding colour that will help to lift both you and your guest’s spirits.
