The Supplier Search is On!

If you’re like me and don’t have a wedding planner to whip up your wedding day, you might be heavily focused on supplier researching. Once I booked our venues I madly Googled potential suppliers, I went mad with Googling and to be honest for the first week I didn’t really get anywhere, so many options came up I struggled to narrow down on what we needed.

So I needed a plan and I found that the best place for my plan was in one of my trusty wedding magazine, The Knot Australia. In one of their previous editions they included a checklist planner, which was broken down into months of when things needed to be organised, this checklist was really helpful as it gave me a starting point and focused my supplier researching into areas of most importance.  A similar checklist lives under the My Knot tab on the homepage, under my To Do List.

So the moral of my story is if you don’t have a wedding planner at least have a plan. Now, with my plan established finding suppliers will be easy. The next time I started my supplier search I jumped straight past Google and straight to the supplier section of theknot.com.au. This function was perfect for me as it allowed me to search for specific suppliers in my area really easily.

Now some of you might not know this, but some suppliers can also be a wealth of information regarding other suppliers, for example, my wonderful photographer was able to suggest a makeup artist for my day, saving me more time and even better booking both of them has had extra benefits and discounts, another good thing to discuss with potential suppliers.

Friends are another great source of supplier information, I say use your social media know how and send out a group message for information on people they know or suppliers they have used in the past.
