There was a lot of hype surrounding Alex Perry’s ‘Arabian Nights’ show at Sydney’s Fox Studios last night. With star-studded arrivals, over a 1000 media and guests, 130 metres of catwalk, 50 looks and a $250,000 budget it was sure to be a stand out for this year’s Rosemount Australian Fashion Week…and he didn’t disappoint.
The King of Australian corsetry didn’t stray too far from what he knows best, and that is, how to widdle a waist down with a well boned bodice. The mostly pastel and metallic collection had flashes of zebra print that added to the exotic feel of the collection. Obviously I was waiting for the wedding dresses, and they were definitely worth the wait! The ruffled tulles and pretty colours (my favourite was the pretty lilac gown) were enough to get any bride excited about her big day.
Beauty note: The hairstyles were all about the height, but in a glamorous way rather than a rock chick way. The hair itself was healthy and lustrous (see how you too can get beautiful locks for your wedding day) with natural movement. Really beautiful and definitely an option for your wedding! –Chelsea Tromans, Features & Beauty Writer
