Buying Bridesmaid Dresses Online: Our Top Tips
Sometimes buying your bridesmaid dresses online is easier than getting the girls together for a day of shopping. Your bridesmaids could live overseas or occasionally the schedules of a group of busy women just don’t seem to match up, so online shopping can be the best way of getting the job done.
There are a few things to remember when shopping for your maids dresses online though. Here are a our top tips
Get Your Maids Measurements
Sizes vary from brand to brand so having your bridesmaid’s measurements on hand will help you navigate through what often can be a confusing detail. You will need your maid’s waist, bust, hips and even waist to floor and waist to shoulder measurements to make sure any alterations that need to be made will be minimal.
A lot of online shopping sites have a section to review items, which is a great way of making sure the item you see online will be the same when it arrives at your doorstep. Flick through these reviews and gauge the positive feedback that online store has had, another great idea is to use your own social media tools (like Facebook or Twitter) to ask your network of friends if anyone has shopped that site before, getting a recommendation from someone you know and trust is always the best review
If the descriptions on site aren’t detailed enough for you, or images aren’t clear, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Eager retailers will be more than happy to take few measurements or send you close up snaps of fabric or embellishments to ensure you are happy with what you are considering purchasing.
Check The Return Policy
In this day and age it’s easy to assume that all retailers will take returns if you are simply unhappy with your choice, but you don’t want to take risks when it comes to your bridal party looks. Find the return policy on site and read it, I know we often just skim through these kinds of things, but it is important to make sure you know where you stand in case you don’t like what you have purchased.
Confirm Shipping Times
This is particularly important if the items are coming from an international site as they can often get held up in customs. If you are buying from an international site give the dresses plenty of time to arrive so you’re not left without dresses just days before your wedding.
